Abstract: On 7th December 2015, the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change notified revised air pollution standards for coal-based power plants in India. These are known as the Environment (Protection) Amendment Rules, 2015 and primarily aim at reducing emissions of, Particulate Matter (PM10), Sulphur di Oxide (SO2) and Oxides of Nitrogen (NOx).
