Abstract: | This paper attempts a comprehensive understanding of the socio-economic and political development at the early historic settlement of Vadgaon-Madhavapur. The archaeological remains are the main evidence which has been used for reconstructing the patterns. The focus has been on the basic issues concerning subsistence of the settlement, the tentative beginnings of social stratification and ruling authority and the prevalent religious beliefs. The primary concern is to gather details about human lifestyle segments and patterns as reflected by the tangible remains. |
