Abstract: EDIF and NIAS organised this workshop to support information-sharing among key stakeholders, including Government representatives and policymakers, geologic and geothermal technical and scientific experts, geothermal regulatory experts, and influential business and community interests. The workshop aimed to facilitate dialogue among stakeholders on the current status of geothermal energy development in India and to identify priority areas for enhancing its adoption. It facilitated exchange of views on: * Effective integration of geothermal energy with other green energy sources, including clean energy planning, best resource mixes, location/state variables. * Affordable and climate-resilient solutions tailored to specific locations and the needs of communities. * Stakeholder concerns regarding risk, including subsurface injection projects that protect groundwater and avoid induced seismicity. * Technical and regulatory gaps. * Unique issues and opportunities in India. The workshop synthesised recommendations on key opportunities, niches and use cases for safe geothermal deployment in India as well as suitable mechanisms to address bottlenecks, risks, policy goals and local priorities.
