Abstract: The study addresses the gap in literature regarding socio-spatial elements and caste related to menstruation. It explores the role of socio-spatial spaces and caste on menstrual practices in rural Rajasthan using an ethnographic methodology that draws on observation and in-depth conversation. Purposive sampling methods have been used to choose the village and adolescent girls. The study utilizes situated intersectionality perspective with Dalit Feminist Framework to highlight the unique and overarching theme of transcalarity in menstrual practices. It encompasses subthemes related to caste-based patriarchy, sanitation spaces and sexual vulnerability, cultural notions of purity, and restrictions in domestic and village-level spaces.
