| Abstract: | The notion of producing human beings in a laboratory had long been the province of science fiction. Dystopian literature talked about a genetically modified society and designer babies, and science fiction included androids born in labs. Modern biology is moving toward some of these aims, recreating the early phases of human reproduction, although it has not yet succeeded in creating fully fledged people. |
