Abstract: India and China are the world's most populated countries witnessing a unique set of challenges in preserving their natural resources but the challenges related to water and climate are still a cause of concern for both. The paper presents the challenges and discusses the strategic approaches of India and China aimed towards strengthening both water security and climate resilience in the light of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 06 and 13. SDG 06 is about ensuring availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all and SDG 13 is about combating climate change and its impacts. These two SDGs—06 and 13—are interconnected, as addressing water security is essential for adapting to climate change and ensuring sustainable development.
